The Heating Assistance Program is suspending all walk-in’s and office visits. 

We will continue to serve clients by phone, mail or online.  All pre-existing clients are asked to Mail- in their application with the necessary documentation or they may be placed in a Drop-Box located in the front of the building, during business hours or our 24 hour drop box located in the rear of the building.  New clients may call to request an application or print one from the website.  Our intake workers will be available by phone to answer any questions or concerns you may have, please call (401) 723-0227.

Rhode Island Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
LIHEAP helps keep families warm through the winter by assisting families with energy costs and reducing the severity of energy-related crises.

Eligibility:  BVCAP services the following areas for heating assistance:  Pawtucket, Central Falls, Cumberland, and Lincoln.  Households must document income and family size and fall into the guidelines set by the federal government. Eligibility is based on Federal Income Guidelines

Documents needed to apply:  COPIES ONLY

  • All Income
  • Renter: Rent Receipt or Lease / Own: Mortgage or Tax Bill
  • Heating and electric bill
  • Photo ID’s & SS cards for all Adult Household Members / Minors: Birth Certificate & SS cards.
