The Parents as Teachers program honors Local Parent Educators at an International Conference. This year, Denise Zanzarov, local Parent Educator at Blackstone Valley Community Action Program was honored Monday, November 11 at the 2015 Parents as Teachers in Dallas, Texas for her designation as Parent Educator of the Year! Ms. Zanzarov, along with four other parent educators from Colorado, Iowa, Texas, and Arizona accepted the award before 1,300 conference participants representing early childhood, child care, health, mental health, social services, government and business professionals from across the nation and around the world.
“This is such an honor to our program and community. No one is more deserving of the award then Denise.” says Deborah Gardner, Director of Families and Youth Services at BVCAP.
Since 2012, BVCAP has been supporting hundreds of area families through Parents as Teachers. The program provides parenting information and support to local families throughout pregnancy until their child turns four. BVCAP’s Parents as Teachers Program is locally funded by the Rhode Island Department of Health.
